Ford’s Technical Career Entry Programs offer Ford-specific training, which can lead to a steady career path with potential opportunities as a Master Tech, Shop Foreman, Service Manager, or General Manager. Ford’s Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) is the only program that offers a paid internship that sets individuals up for success from the beginning.
The Ford ASSET program is designed to improve the professional and technical skills of new technicians. Over a period of two years, students alternate between six to eight weeks in class and with their sponsoring Ford/Lincoln dealer. Students are paid for their on-the-job learning and earn college credits while gaining Automotive Dealership Experience. Ford ASSET students learn from Ford-certified instructors to prepare students for a variety of positions. At the end of the program, students earn their Associate’s degree.
Aaron, a Senior Master Technician at Bill Brown Ford in Livonia, MI, is currently sponsoring two Ford ASSET Students on their path to becoming service technicians. Students Austin & Paul are finding great success in the program. Paul stated, “the best part about ASSET is having the chance to turn my love of cars into a future career.”
