A hybrid version with front-wheel drive is also available for customers interested in better fuel economy. The other two variants in the ST-Line series are the ST-Line Select and the ST-Line Elite. They both come with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that can put out a whopping 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, and a hybrid powertrain option on both models. The ST-Line rocks a sharper, more imposing appearance than its counterparts; it has gorgeously crafted black mesh grilles, attractive LED headlights, prominent rear skid plates, and sizable rear spoilers.

Hybrid Engine Options

Ford’s new 2023 Escape lineup will have two hybrid powertrain options. The full hybrid variant with front-wheel drive generates 210 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. The power increases to 221 hp with a plug-in hybrid model, which delivers an EPA-estimated range of 37 miles while in electric-only mode. When connected to a 110-volt Level 1 charger, the PHEV variant takes around 10 hours to charge fully. However, it only takes 3.5 hours when using a 240-volt Level 2 charger. According to Ford, the full 2023 Escape lineup will deliver a combined fuel economy rating of no less than 400 miles per tank. In comparison, the front-wheel drive hybrid model has an EPA-estimated range of over 550 miles.
